1. What do you enjoy most about working at equivant?
Over the years, I’ve gotten to keep reinventing what I do: development, conversion, technical services, product, and now leading AI strategy. Not many places give you that kind of runway. Working with great people is the real answer, though. You can hire for skills. A team that genuinely cares about the work and each other, you can’t.
2. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? What’s your favorite hobby?
Spending time with my wife, toddler, dogs, and flock of backyard chickens. I also enjoy tinkering with home automation and have an interest in homesteading. Basically trying to build a smart home and a loving home at the same time, with a chicken coop door that opens automatically at sunrise.
3. What is your favorite kind of music?
90s, the greatest era of music ever. Growing up in Seattle, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and the rest of that scene are staples in my playlist.
4. If you could get on a plane and travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?
Rome. It’s the eternal city for a reason. I’m a big history buff, and there’s something about standing in the Colosseum that I can’t put into words. One of those rare places where the weight of human history really hits you.
5. What is your favorite food?
Montanarine, a Neapolitan classic. Fried, puffed-up mini pizzas my Italian mom used to make. Pasta is the everyday answer, but nothing beats those.
6. If you could meet any fictional character, who would it be and why?
Optimus Prime. He was a strong leader who was an inspiration to others and never made it about himself, and I respected that even as a kid.
